Geological Problems Reported

The coal dipped slightly to the north. The soapstone roof was somewhat slabby and tended to come down. Up to 18 inches of surface subsidence was noted during rainy weather, when water would pond in the fields. Some of this surface water seeped into areas where the pillars had been drawn.
