Mining in the Beaucoup Quadrangle
The Nashville Mine (mine index 226) extends onto the Beaucoup quadrangle from the Nashville Quadrangle to the west. The Nashville Mine opened prior to 1881, working the Herrin Coal. This mine closed in 1939, having encountered a number of geologic problems over the years. This is the only mine known to have operated on the Beaucoup Quadrangle.
