Mining in the Raddle Quadrangle
The mines in the Raddle Quadrangle are known only through notes of people doing field work in the vicinity. The coal mined was hypothesized to be in the Caseyville Formation, but further correlation needs to be done. The mines are currently coded as Murphysboro Coal until the relationships of the coals are better known. The mines that operated here were very small, and probably worked a thin bed for personal use only.
