Mining in the Rose Hill Quadrangle

Only one mine is known to have operated in the Rose Hill Quadrangle. Not much is known about this mine, which closed in 1910. The coal, mined at a depth of 150 feet, was likely the Wade Coal. The Wade Coal is known to have been mined in the vicinity of the nearby town of Newton to the south.
