Notes
- ↑ The No. 4 Mine production was reported with the No. 2 Mine from 1896-1901. The No. 4 shaft is the more northern of the two shafts in SW NW NE, and was probably used as an air / escape shaft for the No. 2 Mine. The No. 2 Mine was also connected underground to the Spring Valley No. 1 Mine (mine index 0243), as indicated by the rescue of most of the mules through that connection during the fire that destroyed the shaft and closed the No. 2 Mine on December 31, 1908.

- ↑ This (first) No. 4 Mine was connected underground to the No. 2 Mine. The production from the No. 4 was reported separately from 1892 to 1895, then reported with the No. 2 Mine from 1896-1901, and was thereafter ignored. (The second No. 4 Mine began reporting when Spring Valley Coal Company bought the Chicago, Wilmington & Franklin No. 1 Mine in 1903, and is located in this report under mine index 0241.)
