Notes

  1. The mine was not operated because it was abandoned on 2-27-1925 until it re-opened in 1927 under new ownership of John Skinner and Alex Densmore.
  2. Idle 1944-1947
  3. Production after map date. See note below (on this page) on map sources. The 1948-1954 production is included in the mine boundary on the accompanying map (not as “production after map date”).
  4. Sheet 1 of the company map is dated April 1938, and is final for the northeastern, eastern and southern parts of the mine (working faces were dated 1925 and before). Sheet 2, dated April 1942, illustrates extensions in the northwestern part of the mine. Mining continued in this portion of the mine through 1943. The mine was not reopened until 1948, when the longwall method was discontinued and the room-and-pillar-panel method utilized. The map showing this segment of the mine also shows the southern half of the earlier extensions unchanged and, therefore, final. The additional 3 acres after the map date are probably in the most northwestern portion of the mine, in NW NW 23-T31N-R8E.
