- ↑ Production before the publication of the Coal Reports in 1882 is unknown. James Braidwood, owner of Braidwood Coal Company, died February 1, 1879. The beginning date of operation is from the presence of the shaft in the 1873 atlas. The ending date of operation is deduced from biographical information, but other operators could have bought the mine and operated it after that date.
