An igneous dike was present in this mine that trended due north. The dike was bordered by a small rind of coked coal. The dike was found to coincide with a linear feature on the surface, indicating that the dike seen in the mine may extend to the surface. The roof was good, with very few falls occurring. The floor was a hard claystone that did not cause problems, even when wet. There were some water problems in this mine which required pumping at each face after mining. Some pyrite bands were found throughout the Davis seam, but most commonly the bands were near the top of the Davis seam.
