Name of workings HILLSIDE MINE SHAFT Overall depth 158.5M

DRIFTS IN THE SHAFT WERE AT THE 170, 250, 350, AND 450 FT LEVELS. THE 350 LEVEL IS THE LONGEST AND RUNS FOR 1,600 FT.

ECON.COM: IN 1926, THE HILLSIDE MINE WAS THE LARGEST PRODUCING MINE IN THE REGION AND WAS THE ONLY LARGE VEIN MINE ACCESSIBLE FOR STUDY.

Rosiclare Lead And Fluorspar Mining Company owned it in 1952, Kentucky Fluorspar Company owned it in 1972.
