Andover Quadrangle
MINING IN THE ANDOVER QUADRANGLE
Only one known mine operated in the Andover Quadrangle. The mine was added to a work map in the Coal Section files, with notations on the side of the topographic map that the coal was more than 36 feet deep and ranged from 2.67 to 3.17 feet thick, as well as that the shaft was abandoned circa 1895. It is also likely that the Yotkey Brothers mine operated near Osco (29-T16N-R2E) on the Andover Quadrangle, although the location of that mine is not known.
