Dennison Quadrangle
Mining in the Dennison Quadrangle
The only known mining that took place in the Dennison Quadrangle is the Green Valley Mine (mine index 5722), which operated between 1948 and 1963. Most of the workings were in the Seelyville Coal, but a smaller area was also worked out in the Springfield Coal. The tonnage produced is not known, but was presumably reported in Indiana’s equivalent of the Coal Reports.
