Geological Problems Reported
Black damp leaked from the gob. Some small faults were noted, trending east-west. The immediate roof was 16 to 21 feet of soapstone. Pyrite was present as streaks and balls. The distribution was irregular and no persistent bands were seen. The underclay was 10 to 12 inches thick, with sandstone below.
