  1. The mine was on the P. J. Kolb Farm, and has sometimes been referred to as the Kolb Mine. The A. and P. Coal Company was operated by Charles P. Thompson of Bicknell, Indiana, and one field note refers to the Thompson Mine.
  2. Production was not reported in 1931. The Coal Reports did not list mines producing less than 1,000 tons per year from 1930 to 1933.
