Geological Problems Reported

A north-south trending fault was encountered at several places in this mine. The vertical displacement of the top of the coal was 6 feet. Gas was noted in the eastern part of the mine, and water was found throughout, often accompanied by bad top. Squeezes were also noted in the southwest part of the mine.
