  1. The 1891 Coal Report stated that construction had begun on an escapement shaft. No primary maps of this mine have been found, but the Sanborn-Perris Map Company showed the air shaft to be approximately 120 feet ESE of the main shaft. This location is very general and the air shaft is not shown on the accompanying map.
