Notes

  1. Production was not reported for mines producing less than 1,000 tons per year from 1930 to 1934. This company was not listed in the Coal Reports in 1929 or 1934-1935. The mine was principally used to produced clay for building and paving brick and all the coal produced from the pit was used at the brick plant. The shale above the coal was 30 feet thick and used for brick and another 20 feet below the coal was mined for brick after the coal was removed.
  2. The mine location was plotted on a 1:24000 USGS topographic map from the mine location description and digitized.
