  1. The property was owned by Dewitt Smith, but the operator is not known. The map was generated in 1919 with extensions and updates in 1938 and “work is abandoned June 26, 1942" labeling the eastern extension. It is likely that at least two operators mined here. The early work prior to July 1919 with room-and-pillar basic mining method, then later work in 1938 by a different operator who accessed the eastern part of the reserves through the No. 2 drift with modified room-and-pillar mining method. The operator is likely listed in the unlocated mines at the back of this directory .
