Mining in the Brocton Quadrangle

Only one mine is known to have operated in the Brocton Quadrangle, the Embarras No. 1 Mine (mine index 1010), which worked the Herrin Coal. The mine had significant roof problems and water coming into the mine, and closed in a very short time.
