Mining in the Nortonville Quadrangle
The only known mine in the Nortonvile Quadrangle is one hand-drawn onto a base map of the 15-minute Jacksonville Quadrangle. The basemap is dated 1932, but the dates of operation are unknown. Another mine, a shaft, was sunk before 1928, but there was no known production.
