Geological Problems Reported
The roof was composed of 2.5 inches of black shale under 12 to 18 inches of limestone cap rock. Few coal balls were found. A few horsebacks were noted in the coal. The coal had a uniform appearance, with a narrow pyrite streak near the top of the seam.
