  1. The 1889 Coal Report stated an air shaft was constructed on the eastern side of the mine. The western side was ventilated through Scott’s old mine shaft (mine index 5675). The air shaft is not shown on the accompanying map because of the lack of a source map for this mine.
  2. The mine location was plotted on a 1:24000 USGS topograph map from the mine location description and digitized.
