  1. According to http://coalcity.lib.il.us/coalmining/pages/coalcity/minereclamation.html, the shaft was 8 feet by 16 feet, divided into air and hoist shaft partitions.
  2. Production and years of operation prior to July 1881 are unknown. According to an article in the Chicago Tribune, 1881, Baird and Hickox operated this mine around the time of the article.
