Haulage and fan drift The source map shows that the drift entrance to the mines is off the highwall of the Delta Mine (mine index 702), and several other drift entrances are possible in this area. The only opening that is labeled is the one with a conveyor belt and fan. Personnel entrance to the mine was probably nearby.

The source map for the Carmac Mine (mine index 696) indicated that bad roof conditions prevented westward mining for the Blue Bird No. 6 Mine. The source map for this mine showed bad roof conditions in several areas of the mine, mostly concentrated along the northern part of the mine in NW 32- T9S-R5E, and another area on the western side of the mine (SW NE NE 31-T9S-R5E).
